Stephanos Mar Theodosius Charitable Society is registered under the Charitable Societies Act of the Government of Kerala vide number K380/90 in the year 1990. The society is carrying out charitable activities for the needy on the footsteps of its patron –
H G Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius Metropolitan- since its inception in 1990.
The activities of the society reflect the vision and mission of its patron Mar Theodosius which will motivate future generations for doing so.
Mar Theodosius (then Rev.Fr. K K Punnoose) went toJabalpur in 1952 –the 1900th anniversary of the arrival of St. Thomas at Kodungalloor- with his only bag with bare necessities. He started a Balavady (Nursery School) with 12 children. This was the humble beginning of the Bhilai Mission which carries out different activities in the states ofMaharashtra,Madya-pradesh,Chattisgarh,Nagaland,Assam and West Bengal in the form of hundreds of Balavadies,Primary Health Centers, Societies for Social Works for Farmers, Tailors, unorganized sectors etc and different missions like Makkodia. According to UN, the mother- infant mortality rate inAsia was the highest in Makkodia. After the establishment of Makkodia Mission, this has been considerably reduced. Apart from these, Mar Theodosius established an EngineeringCollege, an Arts & ScienceCollege, 30 higher secondary schools, Secondary & Primary Schools and all of them are maintaining high standards. Above all, these institutions admit students without any capitation or donation. The activities of the society aim to reflect these visions and mission of its patron Mar Theodosius which will definitely motivate future generations for doing so.
A meeting of the society was held on17/03/2007 at Pathamuttom, Kottayam and His Grace Stephanos Mar Theodosius Thirumeny was on the chair. The meeting unanimously decided to launch an old age home at Pathamuttom- the birth place of the Thirumeny and for this a project of Rs.50 lakhs has been planned.
Meanwhile, the sad demise of our patron Thirumeny forces the society to constitute an Advisory board and accordingly it was constituted with the following members:

‘Mar Theodosius Memorial Asha Bhavan’
About the Project ‘Mar Theodosius Memorial Asha Bhavan’: The project consists of land at a cost of Rs.10 lakhs and building of 6500 sq.ft area at a cost of Rs.40 lakhs. The building consists of 2 common halls of 500 sq ft each to accommodate 24 individuals on free of cost and 12 bath attached double rooms of 300 sq. ft each to accommodate 24 individuals on monthly fee for meeting the running expenses. A prayer hall of 400 sq. ft, an in-house clinic of 300 sq.ft, a guest room of 300 sq.ft, an office of 300 sq.ft, a sit out of 200 sq.ft, a dining room of 400 sq.ft, a kitchen of 400 sq.ft, 4 common bath rooms of 250 sq ft and a work area of 250 sq.ft.
