Stephanos Mar Theodosius Charitable Society is named after H G Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius Metropolitan of the Indian Orthodox Church. This society is registered under the charitable societies act of the government of Kerala vide No.K 380/90 on 28/8/1990. The society is constituted to follow the vision and mission of Mar Theodosius for motivating future generations to do such benevolent things for the betterment of mankind.  Mar Theodosius was born on Thursday, October 2nd, 1924 in Kayyalath branch of the Ambalakadav Kudumbam at Kurichy, Kottayam, Kerala.

The society is carrying out charitable activities for the needy on the footsteps of its patron

H G Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius Metropolitan- since its inception in 1990.

Mar Theodosius (then Rev.Fr. K K Punnoose) went to Jabalpur in 1952 –the 1900th anniversary of the arrival of St. Thomas at Kodungalloor- with his only bag with bare necessities. He started a Balavady (Nursery School) with 12 children. This was the humble beginning of the Bhilai Mission which carries out different activities in the states ofMaharashtra,Madya-pradesh,Chattisgarh,Nagaland,Assam and West Bengal in the form of hundreds of Balavadies,Primary Health Centers, Societies for Social Works for Farmers, Tailors, unorganized sectors etc and different missions like Makkodia. According to UN, the mother- infant mortality rate inAsia was the highest in Makkodia. After the establishment of Makkodia Mission, this has been considerably reduced. Apart from these, Mar Theodosius established an EngineeringCollege, an Arts & ScienceCollege, 30 higher secondary schools, Secondary & Primary Schools and all of them are maintaining high standards.  Above all, these institutions admit students without any capitation or donation.  The activities of the society aim to reflect these visions and mission of its patron Mar Theodosius which will definitely motivate future generations for doing so.
